CBR929RR , CBR1000RR Front end swap Q??

Hello All. New guy, but Old School.

Soooo, I have some CB750's. And I came across a real good deal on a complete front end CBR929RR, controls to air cap. Cognito Moto does conversion stems for CBR600 and CBR1000RR 1st and 2nd gen.

My question is , Is the steering stem on the 1st gen CBR1000RR the same as on the CBR929RR?

Thanks very much for all replys and help.

Hi and welcome.

I am not sure this would work from a handling perspective. Save for the possible difference in head stem diameters, there are differences in the rake and trail between the two bikes as follows:

929: Rake = 23.8 degrees and Trail = 97 mm
2004:Rake = 23.3 degrees and Trail = 102 mm

Those more familiar with suspension tuning/adjustments will be well qualified to comment as to whether this would make a significant difference to the ride/steering.
