Hi all, just wanted to introduce myself

Hey guys! Just wanted to say Hello. This forum has tons of history and everytime I google a mod, or a fix, this forum always comes up! Well time for me to sign up and say a quick hi and thank you as well!

In the beginning of 2019, I acquired a 2002 CBR954RR with about 19,000kms. I was really attracted to the 954RR fireblade not only because of its low used price, but because of its well rounded power (enough for me) and low weight! I was really surprised so I had to get one right away to see for myself. After riding it, I'm in love. To me, it is really nimble, and the brakes are very powerful.

Bike was mainly stock except the previous owner painted it flat black. Unfortunately he never told me his fuel pump is weeping fuel, including his left fork, so I guess now I have to deal with those issues. Forks fixed, next is the fuel pump rubber most likely. I can't believe I've been riding like that for a while with no clue until I lifted the tank recently.

Bike was also in really corroded condition. Like it was ridden in the salty roads during winter and never washed. but I've been slowly changing out rusty bolts, sanding / touching up peeling surfaces. And really bad surfaces I'll just change to an aftermarket part.

Bike runs strong though and starts up everytime so thats good news I guess.

Hi Opti. I have 7 of your siblings hooked up to my bikes.

Agree with you about the 954. Great bike and one that will both keep you occupied with your restorative work and happy.

Re: Hi all, just wanted to introduce myself

Thanks for the welcomes guys! hahah fair enough @unslow1 , here are some garage photos. The latest photo is the one of her stripped for now.

Besides waiting for fuel pump parts,
I'm doing a bunch of small things to the bike here and there. In the winter, I'm focusing mainly on improving braking components.

My oem front reservoir looks internally fractured, and the screws are all rusty. So I was like, if I'm going to have to bleed my brakes...... I'm going to go all out.

So I'm working on putting full Core moto SS lines, paired with a Brembo RCS 19 radial brake master cylinder and new 1000RR front fluid reservoir cup.
Will also put a HRC rear reservoir delete kit and lightweight rear rotor from ebay, and woodcraft brake switch for the ebay rear sets.

More mods/plans in the future of course.

Really appreciating Hondas attention to detail in reducing weight to the max. Seems like they looked over every component. I noticed even the under tail is made of polypropylene plastic (one of the lightest plastics out there). Usually its heavy ABS. Lots of surprises as I go along! Kudos to Tadao Baba and his team!

Re: Hi all, just wanted to introduce myself

I'm jealous! Quite the stable you have there! I'm really hoping Honda will come out with that rumoured V4 less costly super bike. That will be my next addition for sure!

Re: Hi all, just wanted to introduce myself

I don't mind that matt black at all, especially compared to my eye-glaring yellow.

I share your wishes for a V4 sports. Various mags have rumoured it for the past 3 years, but since the 'all new 2020 Blade' has already been announced as an inline four, I can't see that we're going to get any special treats from Honda. A real shame though, considering they're running the 'V' in the RC213V yet you can't buy one for the road - unless you downgrade to a VFR
