Looking from above forward, it would be down on the left side of the cylinder head. Above the header. Couple of wires running out of it and it plugs into the harness on top of the head, but under the airbox.
I'll begin this by saying "Complete Twat" and that refers to me. Wheeled my 954 out and it wouldn't start. I'd lent it to its original owner as a 'no-bike' therapy favour. It just went click when I hit the starter. Put it in gear. Rocked it. Tried again. Nothing. Put it back in the garage and got out the VStrom and hit the 60 miles to Robin Hood's Bay from York.
Got back, had a think. The bloody engine kill switch had been flipped to off when he brought it back !@$£!@.
Any help - or are you as dumb as me?
if the pump runs when cranking the crank pulse sensor is ok. The cam senor you can test the continuity and output but can't remember exactly how. More likely though is power or earth connections.
my 929 - similar wiring wiring etc, had a problem with the junction in the look at post 6 in this thread:
Happened when I rode a rented 250 Honda XL round Cambodia. Took it with me on the boat to Siam Riep.
When the lads put it on, or took it off the kill switch got flicked. Much unhappiness watching the touristos cruise away in their transport as I scratched my head on the muddy bank.
You do feel a complete idiot when you realise. But relief!!!
Hello,
Tried everything and yes the kill switch was turned on and fuel pump primes, changed the pulse generator, stator and ECU but still no spark. Coils are new and plugs are new. I have no Idea what else to try.... Please anyone help me....
If you have done all the above. Then it's time to pop that valve cover and check the timing. If the cams are even a tooth off the bike won't spark.
Worth checking if all else seems ok.
