Bought my CBR954RR in September 2019 after 15 years not riding a bike since i met my wife and got a child.
So this Spring and Summer i will be back in the saddle again and try to get back into fast group where i were last time i ride a bike at track.
Have been truthful to Honda since i had my Moped a Honda MT50.
When we come to motorcycle my first was a CBR919RR that first owner had imported from Canada and there was only 5 with that color scheme in Sweden right then.
Picture one with lightning color scheme and i was very visible in traffic but also everyone knows who you are including cops :-(. Think i did 3-4 Track Days with that bike.
My second bike was a CBR929RR that i really liked and sold it with tears in my eyes because insurance company said they want around 3500 Euro per year for full insurance. That was a Black CBR and is picture 2 where i am at Mantorp Park for a Track Day. Made around 8 Track Days with that bike.
Now i got a CBR954RR Blue and White that i am fixing last parts before Spring.
When i do something i try to post it in this thread.
Done by previous owner:
Öhlins springs in front fork
Complete new Nitron shock in back just had service at Nitron before i bought it.
LED turn signals that i have removed
Better tank grip
Race handles
Chrash pucks in frame
Acrapovic
Done by me so far:
New front fender with right color
Regular turn signals with bulbs cause the old one did not work proper and was ugly.
Painted scratches and Racing stripes on wheels since previous owner had changed tires himself and it was alot of scratches on rims.
Polish alot.
Left to do right now:
Maybe mount chrash pucks at front wheel= Have them already
Change turn signal/light switches at handle bar since they do not work proper= On order
Change oil and filter= On order
Maybe change air filter
Today i picked up package from David Silver parts that arrived.
Now just make time to switch these original parts as soon as possible.
Switch unit for lights hopefully fix my turn signal problems.
Oil filter to know that oil and filter is good for new season.
Just put in a order for Castrol Power1 Racing 10W-40 since i will use bike som some normal use also and think it will manage those Track Days i will go on after some reading.
Then i just signed up for my first Track Day at Mantorp Park 15 May and already looking forward to this.
Mantorp Park has a very long straight where you reach around 250-270 km/h before you go in a 180 degree corner which is very exiting
This is because they ride Drag Racing there also.
Okey.
Then it will be cheaper to buy two different ones for me.
One with lower torque and one with higher torque.
Total for these two will be around 70-80 Euro.
Soon time for oil change and therefore i need with lower torque.
This weekend will be me and my motorcycle.
Want to do last things before spring come and some days now you can take it for a ride if temperature goes over 8-10 degrees.
Following things will be done.
Change button controller for headlight, turn signal and horn= Have a brand new one
Change motor oil= Will be Castrol RACE Power1 10W-40
Change oil filter= Orginal Honda filter
Change air filter= Bought a new K&N filter
Then everything i wanted to do this winter is done and ready for street and track.
First of all i am a totally rookie on doing my own service on bike which made me to unscrew several time and because of that it took long time .
Then second i am a guy with no patience which does not help that make several times sit down and take some deep breath and look on youtube how to do.
Below is pictures from start and almost att goal.
Tomorrow i will change oil and filter and then i am ready for summer.
Change the buttons for light and turn signal was a pain for me since a had to lift tank and remove whole air filter box to reach quick connectors for that.
But finally all buttons works and i am really happy that i bought i new original from Honda and David Silver parts.
Now i do not have to think about that anymore.
Since i remove i upgraded air filter to K&N.
So tomorrow i finish this with oil change and then bring me summer please
It often happens with very large file sizes. I have found that if I reduce them by 50% (in Microsoft Paint or similar) they will load with the correct orientation.
Everything went well today with oil change and re mount all fairings.
One thing since it is really hard to se if bike is straight while checking oil level. It could be at max level but even little above after i warm bike up two times.
What problem could i cause if there is max 1 DL to much oil?
Should i try to take some out?
Then i made a mistake yesterday when i mount air intake to box and had to change side of them today but now it is fixed.
I put another layer of wax on it as well and put battery charger on it.
So now except for oil question everything is ready for Spring.
And we wouldn't even be allowed to go to a track or circuit, unless we could walk there as part of our 'daily exercise' but not in a group of more than 3 people!
Damn
Today it was +18 out and blue sky.
When i took bike out for a ride a notice that the front wheel was not 100%
Went to gas station and put more air in it. Did the same for one week ago and it had drop to 1,4 bar and shall have 2,5 bar.
After i had put in new air i took a short ride to the next gas station and already air was lost.
Tomorrow i will take front wheel of and go to a tyre shop.
Tyre looks okey so hope it is just the valve that´s not closing.
So pissed when weather is great
You checked the tire for a nail or sprayed with a liquid like Windex or soapy water? That can tell you where the leak may be. The valve in the valve stem can be easily taken out and inspected. Of course if you have the tool to do so. Its a small bit, but could certainly find one even at an auto-parts store or bicycle shop maybe.
The product is good, but it fuels my pet hate of R & G plastering its logos over nearly every square inch of product!
