nice presentation. and again for the effort.

I've been wanting to move my rego holder from the rear plate, looks like you've got it in the right spot. I think I'll follow you lead on that one.

P.S. Damn the 1000RR is a good bike!!

Actually I'm going to move it because it's bolted to where the pickup knobs go.

One of my mates suggested I just throw it in the boot, like him. It keeps falling off on him. He has been pulled up on it, but the cop let him off, so I guess, as long as you can produce it, its ok.

Where were you thinking of moving it to?

I used to keep it in the boot when I had my 929. Not sure where I'll move it to this time. Might do the boot thing again.

Great comparison pics

In that rear view pic, the clip-ons for the 1000 look way lower than on the 954

How do the ergos compare between the two?

They are a bit lower and feel that way when you ride. The pegs are higher too. Personally I like the new position.

Re: 954 vs 1000 comparison pictures

Wow. Still amazes me how small the 1000 looks compared to the 954. I haven't seen a 1000RR up close yet, but I know how small a 954 is (compared to my 95). Does any body have side by side pics of a 1000RR vs a 600RR?

Re: 954 vs 1000 comparison pictures

I forgot you guy's get solid red on the upper fairing. Kinda wish they made it all red upper and lower. Also, if you take a hair dryer to those stickers on your swingarm they will come right off. Looks a lot cleaner without 'em. 1000rr is a very cool machine.

Re: 954 vs 1000 comparison pictures

Gotta love the look of the swingarm on the 1000. Seeing those two bikes together though, I like the blue, and I wonder if there will be a blue 1000rr in the future for NA that looks as sharp as the blue 600rr.

Re: 954 vs 1000 comparison pictures

The new 1000 rr looks a much more modern bike, mainly due to the under seat exhaust. The first thing I did when I got mine home was fit the seat cowl and remove the rear passenger foot pegs (had to make up a bracket to fix the plastic exhaust cover to, because it attached to the right side rear foot peg). As a result the bike looks a lot cleaner and racer like. Next on the list will be a tidyer number plate bracket. Having come from a 1997 rrv this bike is not only awsome
but freindly with it and handles my commute in fairly heavy traffic no problem. Cant wait for the first service (on Saturday) so I can see what it will really do!

Re: 954 vs 1000 comparison pictures

Oddly enuf, when I see the two bikes together, I realize that the styling is more evolutionary than not. I mean, the difference between 929 and 954's styling was more apparent.

But the 954 still holds up well against the new bike.

Be fast or be last.
