Frame repair ?

Hi Guys ...

Well I have been busy mirror polishing my frame, and I am undecided about what to do about the 'damaged' bit ?

I only had me blade a week, the bike was a 'Cat C' write off as it needed new plastics and a new frame, well so the insurance said ...

The previous owner has sort of filled the damage in, but its not pleasant to look at, so my question is ..

Is it possible to repair this ? can the frame be made to look un-damaged again ? or .. should I just buy some frame protectors and hide it ?

I've attached some pics, 2 of the damage 2 of the polishing

Your thoughts please ?

Cheers

Re: Frame repair ?

polish right over it man. I wouldnt worry about that mark - if it bug you too much take it to a welder, get it filled and ground down - and polish from there.

Re: Frame repair ?

sorta what I was thining.. hopefully that's on an area that will see stresses like the sterring head. I've seen an RC with a fram that was welded and then just kept cracking from the localized heat stresses of the welding itself (so my neighbor the expert welder thinks - I don't know squat about Al welding other than you need to wire-feed and should use MIG/TIG). At any rate.. you might be better off just polishing over it.. and fuggedabout it.

Nice year RR dude!
