Where's my HP?

Let me say this 1st....I AM going to get a custom map! OK, last night I had my bike dynoed at the same shop where it was done about a year ago. At that time it just had a slip-on, and got 130 hp and 64 f/lbs torque. Last night, with a full Hindle and PC3 (running K9inAZ's latest custom map) all it got was 131 hp and 65 ft/lbs. The A/F ratio was between 13.3/1 to 12.7/1 from 4500 rpm on up (the really low end had some ups and downs),and the curves look great, nice and smooth. Sorry, no way to post them. I don't get it, I was expecting a little more than 1 pony! Any suggestions?

Proof positive that the Hindle is a pile of crap.

Re: Where's my HP?

Gotta agree with ya though Pete. I know lots of guys rave about them on here, but I haven't seen "good" numbers out of any Hindle systems I have done here. Anyway, the graph that you have only shows 100% throttle from woe to go. While that may be semi close, the rest of the map still has an effect on the total result if you get my drift. I bet once you have the custom map done, the power will be much more than it is now. Let us know.

Re: Where's my HP?

I had the same resualts with that same map and a full Hindle. My Hindle is one of the test pipes from the Factory Team, so I thought that might be the reason for 130 hp. So I went and had a custom one made and 145 at the rear wheel now.

Re: Where's my HP?

maybe your bike is getting tired... How many miles did you put on it this past year? FWIW - I only gained 1 whp by going to the arata over my hindle. I actually lost low end with the arata.

Re: Where's my HP?

Update time! I rode over to Dayton yesterday and had a custom map made @ F&S HD/Buell (I know what you're thinking, but he's done several sportbikes and did a good job on mine), but like the dumazz I am, didn't think to have him do a 'before' run. I wish I could post the graphs, but no scanner available. Anywho, I ended up with 143.5 hp/71.1 ft/lbs torque corrected! But the best part was the difference I could feel on the way home...Amazing! I thought it was running good with K9's map, but now I'm a believer, especially after comparing the maps (Doug printed out what was loaded in the PC to begin with and when he was done), if you've got a PC3,get it mapped! Oh, and they only charge 200 bones! I was going to have the shop here in Columbus do it, but I talked to the guy and he said they were in the process of moving (dyno torn apart) and asked why I wanted a custom map. I told him why and he said "Unless you've done more to the engine than a pipe and filter, you're just wasting your money. Just use a map off the 'net." I guess he doesn't like making $$$

Re: Where's my HP?

What sort of a fukwit would say something like that? That's funny as hell. You should go back to him now and tell him what a difference it made. What a tool.
Like I've said 100 times on here in a very short time. GET YOUR PC CUSTOM MAPPED
