What's the recomended RPM range for a 01 929 with 1200 miles on it?

It almost hurts when I rev my baby over 5500 RPMs, am I babying it?

Idle to redline is ok at 1200 miles (for any break-in method).

Best is to put it in neutral and rev to 11k......and see if it lurches

Yes, lugging the motor is bad. These things beg to be thrashed/ridden hard. You won't hurt it.

Ok, not used to this though, my last bike (95, 900RR)R.I.P., threw a rod as I was going up a hill after I gave it a mouth full of throttle. Scared to do the same with the new baby.

Downshift. You shouldn't need anything more than 2nd gear in the city.

Actually, pull in the clutch, in gear and rev to 11k, but who's counting.
