Valve Clearance to Shim size chart

Can someone post a scan or picture from the manual on the clearance with the feeler gauge to shim size correspondent?

It's time to reshim my valves, even after the valve dropping incident and replacement, i've put on 4k miles.

Any help would be appreciated, I don't have my manual.

Re: Valve Clearance to Shim size chart

I got this from someone on this site I think. You'll have to check to see if has the correct numbers for what the valves are supposed to be at (I don't remember if this chart was for a 929 or 954).

You can edit the chart (it's an Excel file) with the correct readings you've got to find out what shim size you need.

Maybe the author of it will see this thread and give some detail on it. I haven't had to use it yet.

Re: Valve Clearance to Shim size chart

Vic,
I have my manual in hand but do not see the chart you are referring to....however, I did see an equation for calculating the shim thickness if that is of interest. You could also borrow my manual if needed. Give me a shout on my PM and we can make the arrangements.

The other Victor

929 Data
New shim value= (Recorded valve clearance - Spec valve clearance) + Old shim value

Valve Clearance
Intake Spec = 0.16+/-0.03mm (0.006+/-0.001in)
Exhaust Spec = 0.27+/-0.03mm (0.011+/-0.001in)

Can you say 6 in a ROW!!!!
