Differences between the '00 & '01 929

Just went down my local dealership strip and they have a newer '01 model 929... I have the 00' 929 and the only main differences I can pick out are the colour scheme.

Can someone enlighten me to any mechanical differences? I did a quick search but didn't come up with much.

Cheers

Different paint, different plastic collors, different color front rotor carriers. The early 00's had two "updates" or "recalls" or whatever you want to call them, make sure any 00 has had the revisions (fuel line and something in the clutch.)

In Aus, only the 01 models had HISS(Honda Ignition Security System), otherwise the same apart from colours.

A number of sources recorded that the '01 model had a few more hp and a few more kgs. Wasn't a great deal of either though. Great bike in either case.

I remember a magazine test where they said that the 01 had more HP, but also weighed 5 or 10 lbs more than the 00.

Re: Differences between the '00 & '01 929

Zee... Mine is an '00 and it definitely has the HISS system on it...

Is there a place to check out what the recalls were and how to ensure they have been carried out? As usual I got no log books or even a spare key with my 929, but I've become used to that.

Re: Differences between the '00 & '01 929

I think there are little punch stamp marks on the frame somewhere. Look at the frame near the seat. The frame was supposed to get those little stamp marks if the recalls had been done.
