Finally did a dyno run

I just did a dyno run, no torque.

the bike is a 2001 929, erion pipe, 520 chain, same teeth. 37km's on the bike, haven't changed the sparkplugs, or the air filter.

and the results.....

133.1 hp

the guy told me that cutting the cone, will give a little more also. I did that after the run ( but couldn't dyno it). Removing the cone actually took a lot of vibrations out of the bike and all revs and speeds, so at the very least i'm happy about that ( even though the person says that the cone removal could give up to 3 more HP's).

so next spring i'll change the sparkplugs, and air filter then we'll see what we get.

Re: Finally did a dyno run

Cool,

do a search on the big air filter debates before you go out and get an K&N

Re: Finally did a dyno run

I believe Abtech had posted some real numbers that showed that stock was the same or better than K&N. Just keep it clean and you will be fine.

Re: Finally did a dyno run

My stock 929 got just 122 too. Works great though. Kicks butt against the latest and greatest literbikes on the track. Not a real handicap where I use it.

Re: Finally did a dyno run

I use a stock air filter and after fuel mapping was complete we tried some ign. variations, +2, -2. Both lost power. So also say no to ign. advancers!
