Re: trade 01 929 for 2 bikes?

I have a friend that is willing to trade me a F3 and a 97 ZX11 for my 929 with 12k miles. I actually need to just get out of debt really so I would prolly sell off one of the bikes. Both bikes are in good condition ridden by a calm computer geek as is my 929.

What do you guys think?

Re: trade 01 929 for 2 bikes?

Add together the blue book of the two your friend has and compare it to book for your '01, then decide.

Sounds like way too many variables to be worth it to me, but I don't know the condition of any three of the subject machines. The big Eleven (I used to own one) will leave you longing for a lighter, more flickable machine. The F3 (I owned one of those too, well, an F2 to be exact) will feel like a dog after being on your 929.

I say keep what you've got and get a part-time job.

Re: trade 01 929 for 2 bikes?

so what I can gather is assuring that it is not a hands down stupid move and should take some considering.

The F3 from what I know is in good to great condition and the ZX11 looks nice and comfy like a XX. I know the ZX11 is well taken care of. From what I can tell he rides easier than Bubba at Grattan. (Did any of you see that grattan footage with the squirrel passing Bubba on the outside?)

No. Perhaps you could post it in this thread

As far as your potential trade, only you know all of the details that would make a decision easy.

Re: trade 01 929 for 2 bikes?

While I agree with Chain that going from a blade to an f3 is a serious downgrade (well DUH) if you need the money that badly but still want to ride it is a sacrifice worth making. *I used to have an f2, very similar to the f3, and it was a great machine.

I know about sacrifices *and downgrading too, I sold my 929 for tuition money and a Suzuki DRZ400. *But it was something I had to do and do not regret it......much.

Re: trade 01 929 for 2 bikes?

I think it would be cool to have an F3 and a ZX-11. By '97 most of the problems with the earlier ZX-11s had been worked out, and the F3 is like a rock. It would be fun to have a very powerful sport tourer and a nice little 600.

One other thought, both of the bikes you mentioned are a lot better at carrying passengers than your 929 if you do much of that.

I don't think he even know what his 929 is like Without a passanger I think you need to see how many scooters you can get out of the 929

The ZX-11 is a classic in my eyes. I think depending on the condition(s), and givin the fact that you are in debt you may want to consider it.

Good luck.
