Re: And suddenly it clicked.

first of all let me preface this by saying the couple times that i've been out riding with folks from the board... i've learned a ton.. I had a read thru 'Twist of the Wrist II' (hey flasher2001!&#33.. and asked a shitload of questions while out riding.. cornering has always been my biggest problem.. that and not fully trusting my tires/bike..

well, i've watched. read. lowered my tire pressure a tad..etc... so anyway.. i'm on my way to work and i'm getting ready to take this corner, and i scooched my ass a little to the side..(not kneedraggin mind you) and the bike just rolled around the corner ****in beautifully. it wasn't really anything spectacular... but it just felt great... i wasn't hesitant.. and I didn't seem to have that fear of the tires flying out from under me.......anyway it was a good start to my day for once and i'm happy that i feel more comfortable with the bike..

Re: And suddenly it clicked.

a nice 10:00 wheelie after you got around the corner would have been perfect!

Re: And suddenly it clicked.

That's how it starts then pretty soon you find yourself doing trackdays and then racing. It only gets better from here. Congrats on a great start to your day.

Re: And suddenly it clicked.

Every morning that i ride the 929 to work i have a ritual i perform to wake me up. There is a cloverleaf in the highway on my way that never has much traffic on it. I always ride around it and hit all 4 ramps at least twice. Ever seen that commercial for zest soap when the guy in the shower smells it and immediately comes to life. There you go.

Re: And suddenly it clicked.

I remember the first time I did that too. I did it a few more times, faster, and ended up scaring the #### out of myself. When I start to get too comfortable, I park it. When I get cocky bad things happen.

I think alot of my problem is that I have not ridden the same bike for over a year. *My confidence is getting up there, but still needs major work. *I do plan to keep this bike for a few years to gain confidence. *Then, maybe turn it into a track bike or a daily driver.
