Re: Cage Drivers Blow

Riding along earlier tonight on a 55 MPH four-lane highway with a center turning lane.

I'm cruising along about 60 in the left lane, when this 80 year old moron enters the highway from a perpendicular street on the left. I figure they must be entering the turning lane, so I veer slightly to the right of my line in case they swing it wide. I can't go too far too my right just in case someone is coming up from behind in the lane to the right.

But they're not entering the turning lane. They're not even turning left into my lane in front of me. They're simply crossing the entire freaking highway as though I'm not even freaking there.

I blast the horn as I barely squeeze by between their front bumper and the lane line to my right. I'm shaking my head in absolute shock over what has just happened and cursing loudly within my helmet.

At the next stoplight this guy that was behind me pulls up alongside me and shakes his head and says 'do you have any idea how close that was? They were 6 inches from your rear tire!' I said, 'I know - I kept waiting for them to turn left and the stupid motherf**kers never did!'

I was (and still am) livid. How the hell can I be so invisible?

Pisses me off.

Re: Cage Drivers Blow

with some people driving.. you could have a neon sign attached to you/your bike... and they still wouldn't see it.

EDIT: glad you made it ok

Re: Cage Drivers Blow

This afternoon I was tooling along (at the speed limit) and this dumbass bish in the next lane starts trying to take me out with her cage, I layed on the horn and prepared to take evasive manuevers when she finally sees me(she's half the way into my lane)...as I speed up to get the fvck away from her, she waves like she's apologizing...and never even takes a break from her 'PHONECALL' Sure am glad I didn't interrupt the b!tches' phone call and inconvenience her by being run over by her stupid ass.

Thanks, I needed to vent that one. Everytime this 'almost' happens, I realize how grown up I'm getting at almost 40 that I don't kick doors in.

WTF? Is today a full moon or something. I got cut off as well and then at the next stop light I pull up right beside the woman and she didn't even acknowledge my existence....maybe she still didn't see me. *

Keep your heads up everyone

bwhip, glad to hear you survived to tell the story! *All of us that ride a motorcycle know that this sh*t is to be expected, on practically a daily basis. *Still doesn't make it any easier to accept, however.

Rigger, I WANT your women!

Edit: Oh hell, just looked again, I hope that is not your wife and daughter

Everyday it's the same crap you just have to be ready and expect the stupid to do stupid things
I have people pull out in front of me or just don't look or listen to whats around them as I'm lights and sirens in the ambulance. And you expect them to see a motorbike. People are selfish ****s, we have nudge bars on our ambulances and I use them. Take there license plate number and it's 4 demerit points on their license and a $500 fine! cop that A holes!
Revenge is so very very sweet!
What I do is kick a dent in their door or puch of their side mirror, (nb* always do this with gloves and boots, other wise ouch&#33
Tell you what they'll look in their blind spot next time!

Re: Cage Drivers Blow

Have you guys ever heard about New Mexico drivers? *They're bad. *The last few days I've noticed that every light I'm at once the left turn arrow goes red at least another 2-3 cars take the turn. *WTF! *I always wait another couple seconds before taking off from a light and give that extra look too.

I work for a TV station so I'm going to take my DV cam out one of these days and tape all the cagers that run the lights (in one day) then bring it to the news department for a story. *If they run the story maybe it will get the police to start to pay attention. *I'm only afraid it will then get them paying more attention to me doing 5 over the limit. *Speaking of police, I see people do this when there is a cop 2 cars back at the same light and they don't do anything. *It bugs sometimes. *I'll probably do the taping this weekend since I'll be with the girlfriend in her cage. *I'll edit it down and post it here when I do it.

This is exactly why I avoid camping out next to people at all. I 'sneak' up on them, then get by right away.

My suggestion was that all motorcyclists should be allowed to carry paintball guns for marking 'bad drivers'. It would allow us to visually identify the bastards before it's too late.

Picture this... driving down the street you get cut off by the old guy, you know, the one with the hat. Pull out your Derringer paintball pistol and *pock*pock* - brightly spotted vehicle. You pass him and your buddy, who was way back, on his ZX-6 comes flying up and sees 2 hunting orange spots on the back of that Oldsmobile. Whoa... on come the brakes until he can pass with ample room. Other benefits? Say you've got a 16 year old son, or daughter of any age, and you lend them the keys to your family sedan... No marks when they get home? Great. Anything resembling flourescent paint, grounded 2 weeks. Simple as that.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. As soon as I am King of Canada, we'll do away with these problems.
