Re: 954 TAIL SECTION FOR A 929

You'll probably need to do alot of modifications to do it. It's not just an easy plastic swap. And, lighting and wiring is different too. It's not worth the work, IMO.

Re: 954 TAIL SECTION FOR A 929

Purchase a 954 subframe, tailsection/lamp assy. and modify (weld) the mounting points. An aquaintance of mine did the tailsection and swingarm mod and said the tailsection was a major PITA.

Re: 954 TAIL SECTION FOR A 929

I did some research and the frame on the 954 is actually like 1 inch longer then that of the 929. It would take a custom subframe.

Actually if you look at the two subframes... the 954 top section welded to the bottom 929 section may work...

aaahhh I doubt it.

Re: 954 TAIL SECTION FOR A 929

Nah, the 954 top mounts are in a different place on the frame and they are spaced out more. I don't know if the bottom mounts are spaced differently as well but I would hazard a guess that they are. I looked closely one day at all of this (I had the same idea). A friend has a 954 and my 929 was parked right next to it.

It would definitely require lots of cutting and welding, etc. It really isn't worth the effort with the subframe.
