01 929 potential quarter time?

Hi everyone! I just bought an 01 929 Erion edition. I just wondered if anyone knew what quarter mile times the magazine testers were able to get out of the 929? Thanks.

I hope you guys don't mind a question on my first post...

nah its cool not sure on the 1/4 mile times but don't let any of the crackheads here tell you their color is faster. the Erion is the fastest color scheme for the 929.

if you can't convince them, confuse them.

Re: 01 929 potential quarter time?

I'm thinking that it was around 10.5's at 130's 135's ? Just from what I remember about the articles from back then. I had a 2k and it was the black and silver one, it would have been the 01 Erion but the dealership sold it out from under me...oh well got a better deal on the 00' anyways...

Welcome 1pcbr! Don't know what the 1/4 time is for a stock 929 but, fret not, it is phucking phast enough!

Best my lame ass could do was 11.1 @ 129mph. But I pretty much suck at drag racing.

I remember some of the rags saying 10.20's. Best I could muster was a 10.9

Re: 01 929 potential quarter time?

I have seen a stock 929 run a 10.6 at 133mph. The guy only weighed in at 140lbs though. Now my big fat ass (225lbs) ran a 11.09 at 131mph and that is the best I have got. But, I'm done with the drag racing, twisties are more my style.

Re: 01 929 potential quarter time?

I saw an Erion edition this weekend, not sure what his times were, but mid 10's is probably close to what it will run with some practice. With the numbers Sonicsbomb gets, he could probably get it down into the low 10's, I might could if I could keep the front down, which will be the hardest thing to learn to do with stock wheelbase. I was running low 10's with just a strap on my 54 with stock wheelbase last year.

something fishy about those number (for the Suzuki's anyway) the Busa is running a low 10 and the 2 GSXR1000s are doing high 9s. that can't be right

edit: the sport rider numbers are about the same. guess its just the rider and the weather conditions on the day

if you can't convince them, confuse them.

Re: 01 929 potential quarter time?

Thanks for the links and info. I can't wait to try the 1/4 mile. I raced a little a long time ago on a GPZ 1170 with a 130 size back tire. My biggest problem was tire spin in the first 3 gears. I guess the 929 will wheelie a lot, but at least I won't have to worry about tire spin

Re: 01 929 potential quarter time?

the book time is 10.35 at 136 I think. I was able to get a 10.41 on mine at 132mph with only a slip on, and I weigh 210
