Re: Shipping Forks

How are you guys and girls packaging up your forks when you're shipping them? I'd be afraid they'd get damaged.

Re: Shipping Forks

If you go to Mailboxes Etc. (or UPS Store or whatever they're called now) they will have some triangular tubes to slip the forks into with packing peanuts/bubble wrap. *To be extra cautious, you can put the tubes into a larger regular box with more packing.

Is a paradigm worth 20 cents?

Re: Shipping Forks

Fedex tubes, then put both of them in another box. Or get some plastic rifle cases.

Re: Shipping Forks

Someone on the old forum suggested using a gun case, the suitcase type with the egg crate type foam. If you have access to one this sounds like a good idea. It would add to your shipping costs somewhat and you would have to request that they be returned in the case if you wanted it back. I have access to our shipping dept here at work so I am sure that I can find boxes and packing to do a secure job. If I didn't have this type of access I would go to a Mailboxes Etc. or similar type of shipping company to see what they had available.

Life always looks better through bugs on a face shield.

Re: Shipping Forks

I wrapped mine in the foam that came on the pitbull stand. Put them in an old tent box and stuff those little air bags all around until the forks couldn't move.

Re: Shipping Forks

I wrapped both mine individually in large bubble wrap, rolling them up. Then I folded the ends of the wrap over so they wouldn't slide. Two blocks of broken strofoam on the inside of the box ends, with two blocks keeping the forks apart. Surround with newspaper, and ship. I shook my box when it was done, and there was zero play or noise inside the box.

...in my pants
