Saw my old 954 last night

The squid that bought it came (months later) to pick up a windscreen that I had promised him. Unfortunately, he called to come get it after I had promised it to CBRVFR. I didn't hear from the guy for months, and figured he didn't want it that bad. What are the chances that he would call me minutes after CBRVFR said he wanted it. Pisses me off b/c I would have rather given it to CBRVFR. Oh, well.

Anyway, the point of this thread is to say that I miss my old bike. I don't regret selling it, but after my crash it was pretty messed up. The thing that bothers me is that it went to a stunna. The dude was telling me how he's starting to do "tank stuff" and didn't want the double bubble that was on it. This winter he said he was going to put a cage and a 12 o'clock bar on it.

What a dumb kid. That's just the best way to describe him. A dumb kid.

Made me so sad to see my bike being treated that way.

you had the choice on who you sold it to and you let it go to him, deal with it...

as for missing it but not regretting selling... I completely feel for ya...
I miss my old hybrid civic but don't regret selling it, it paid for my first bike.

Yea, well. He offered me more than it was worth in it's condition so I couldn't pass it up.

hope this brings some comfort:

our bikes once leaving us may find an unfortunate fate however, during the brief time we shared, things were good.

Re: Saw my old 954 last night

I miss both my 954's, the one that got stolen more than the one I sold. I'll probably never see either of them again.

Re: Saw my old 954 last night

I sold mine to a guy in SoCal. That way I won't have to see it again.

Re: Saw my old 954 last night

I traded my 01 929 yw/blk in for 2 quads a year ago W/1200 miles on it. I bought a NEW 02 954 from a dealer this past spring. I'm glad I traded the 929 in .Now I can play in the dirt & have a 954RR that's ALOT better bike for me then the 929 was!!! Once I sell it I don't care who does what to it.I obviously didn't want it so. It's there's & I don't think about cause it's not mine!
Someone look'n for a stock 954 wind shield???

Re: Saw my old 954 last night

I saw my old fireblade two days ago...it is still sitting at the dealership that I traded it in at. I kinda feel bad that it is still sitting there(I had a lot of fun on that bike) plus the dealer is selling it for less than what he gave me, as traded. I hate to see it sitting there but, I really dont regret buying the new one.

Looking at the +- 11000 bikes in town this weekend and what some guys do with/to/on their bikes.... perhaps us .org lot love our bikes more than the desire to show off and behave squidlike and idiotic. As I said to someone this week: I love my bike more than what I wanna show off, end up in hospital with a red face (and broken parts) and bikeless. Perhaps I'm just too "sane" to start stunting and going hooligan, but sure as heck, nothing beats the adrenaline rush I get with the speedo way way up there in the illegal range! Or to afraid! (after seeing my SRAD in like 73 pieces)

(To clarify: South Africa's biggest bike rally in town. Main street closed off for everything but bikes, holiday resort taken over by bikes (rally grounds), people came from all over, including neighboring countries).

Re: Saw my old 954 last night

It was tough seeing my old 954 in the scrap yard after my accident...all neglected and mangled. I know it was auctioned off by my insurance, but don't know where it ended up going.

But all things have a silver lining as I used the insurance money to buy my new Gixxer that is the same, and in some cases, better than my Blade.

So cheer up HD!

Bikes and women - both have nice curves.
