929 UK moving to Canada.

Seeing as the display switches from Kph to Mph and back etc, and the octane of the fule matches is there any other issue that would be problematic with me bringing a UK blade to Canada ?

Its just that if I sell it now (or manage to) it will be at such a loss it makes more sense to just ship it over.

Re: 929 UK moving to Canada.

I know that there were lots of "gotcha's" when someone was trying to bring a Euro blade to the USA, but Canada may be easier.

Re: 929 UK moving to Canada.

Transport Canada will be your only hurdle. And you will want to call them to find out what you need BEFORE coming over.

The Euro specs and Canadian specs, IIRC, on the 929 are identical. Cali and Australia had the only differing bikes.

Re: 929 UK moving to Canada.

Looks like all will be okay. So where will you be moving to in Cdn? For Cdn is even larger then the States only most of us huddle around the USA/Cdn border, but there are 10 Provinces & many of said provinces are large though the population is only 1/10th of the USA & yes the State of Calif has a larger pop then all of Cdn.

I assume Vancouver so you should be in for some great riding next summer up toward Whistler and over to the Rockies. Of course now that you swapped to this side of the pond maybe one day you can get down south (east). Although I realize that is one loooong ride

Man, I like those stats! It's just that pesky climate you guys have, otherwise I'd be there in a flash (if they'd let me in...).

Re: 929 UK moving to Canada.

Well I had thought about visiting the USA, though with recent policital happening I can't see that happening for another 4 years at least, I've just canceled 2 trips.

Depending on the effect it all has on Canada I might not stay there either !

Though the ball is in motion now so I'll go through with it atm.

Re: 929 UK moving to Canada.

i'd suggest swapping your headlights over to North American DOT models.
Currently your beam is RHD and you'd need to be LHD.

If you wanna let me use your blade here i'll hook u up with a 2001 CBR 600 in Canada

as for taking a loss, if you were to sell your blade here for 3500 quid, that money could buy you a 2003 954 or gixxer 1 or r1 in canada, you may just have to go outside of Vancouver to do so...

If I knew how much more expensive bikes here in the UK were than North America, I would have brought over my F4i and sold it here!! oh well... i got 2 bikes now

Truth be known, the difference in president for you visiting will be =0. Despite the doom and gloom everyone projects. If you disliked Americans before the election you still will and the other way round also.

Besides while I can not speak for the west coast, I can say down in the south Brits are very welcome (I have seen more than a couple while they were visiting Jack Daniels distillery)

One of the powers of the USA is we argue and fight like cats and dogs amongst ourselves but at the end of the day we treat each other quite well. There are a few that act like politics are a blood feud but most know that to be

So if you have time zip down I think you would miss a lot by not visiting (while that region of Canada is fabulous, California has some great things or Yellowstone, Glacier National Park, Grand Canyon, etc)

Re: 929 UK moving to Canada.

I'd go with Chindian and suggest, if the move is for a longer period of time, that you sell in the UK and buy in Canada because of the big price level difference.

My friend has brought bikes back and forth form Italy to the USA. He is in the Army though...and I think they pretty much hook him up. I will ask the questions anywho!

I got it for 4500 this summber I can't sell it for 3000 now, selling it would be ideal though its not really going to happen I think.
