More Brembo questions

From an earlier post, it seems that only HondaGalToo, and SLODUCK have replaced thier master cylinder with a Brembo unit. So my next line of questioning, and probably addressed to these two is:

Which one do you have? The 19x18 or the 19x20?

Have you had the opportunity to try BOTH of them - to see which one you prefer?

If you have the 18, do you wish you had the 20 - or vice versa?

As you're aware, Brembo says the "20" gives less lever travel and less feel, yet more power.
The "18" has MORE lever travel, and MORE feel.

I have talked to users of each of them. I haven't heard ANYTHING negative said about either one of them. Like most things we change on our motorcycles... I guess it just comes down to personal preference. But as far as BRAKES are concerned... shouldn't we all want the same thing? For them to WORK, and to work GOOD?!

The main reason I'm asking in here which version you use is because of all the riders I HAVE talked to - none of them are on a Honda. And everybody knows... our brakes are ALREADY better than theirs!
And btw, I bought the 19x18.

Thanks again for any input.

Re: More Brembo questions

The 19x18 is the correct one for our bikes, according to Dan Kyle. That's the one he sold me. I like the feel better. The stock brakes were pretty awesome, though, as well. I've never tried the 19x20. I see you have a 954, I have a 929, but I assume the part would be the same for both.
Stock, I like the 954's brakes better than the 929's.

bottom line is anything DK says is the only opinion you have to get.

if you can't convince them, confuse them.

I don't know about that. In my opinion there isn't really a right one for any particular bike. Unless of corse you have a single rotor, then you will need a smaller piston. As for the 19x18 against 19x20, it is all preference. You may like one or the other. I have used all 19x18, 19x20 and 19x16, on all different bikes and I like the 19x16 the most. Maybe because it's billet. But if I will choose betwen the 18 and 20, then I'll pick the 18. But I sell 20 more than I sell 18, I think it's like 5 to 1.

Yeah, that's true, I could've used the 19x20 as well. I just went with Dan's recommendation. I'd be interested in trying a 19x20, just to see the difference, but not at the expense of buying another one!

Holeshot, mine's a radial.

Re: More Brembo questions

Thanks, SLODUCK. Now THAT'S the kind of an answer I was looking for!

Yeah, I wish I had the luxury to try out each one of them to see which suits ME best, because I don't believe there is "one right one for each bike" either. In the meantime, I will stick with the 18 that I have, and just go with it.

And to Holeshot; yes, it is a radial.

Thanks to everybody for your input!
