Re: first trackday

Enjoy every second of it,,,, It WILL be the funnest thing you ever do. No better feeling than loading the bike at the end of a great track weekend with bald tires and shinny paint. Just have fun, and start saving $ now for track day #2

Re: first trackday

Go at your own pace. Don't get caught up trying to do what others are doing. Only do what feels good to you.

Load the outside peg. Not the inside.

Progress slowly. Avoid any "Oh ****" moments. I don't think you are learning during these. Only surviving.

Above all else, have fun.

Re: first trackday

Come well prepared (tools, water, snack, etc.) and rested. Remember to relax and breathe! You'll have tons of fun...

Re: first trackday

All of the above (except I was taught to load the inside peg). It WILL be the most fun thing you've ever done. Just ride within your own comfort zone on speed, concentrate on being SMOOTH and picking good lines, and try to learn from the good skills of others.

Have a great time!

Re: first trackday

Try to get behind someone that seems to know what they are doing and learn the good lines. You don't have to go that fast to have fun, nor to lean the bike over. It will lean over farther than you can imagine without going warp speed.

Negative. Push into the outside peg and rotate your hips into the turn. This action will then make your knee stick out (then it drags on the pavement). Head/nose points throught the turn and shoulders stay square to the front of the bike. Sometimes I pretend I'm sliding or turning around a flag pole that is sticking up out of the tank.

Depends on who you talk to. Code promotes the outside peg weighting, Pridmore advocates inside peg weighting.
