Preload adjustment

I want to adjust my preload because I think it may be too stiff but I am afraid to put a ratchet on there since it's black and could get scratched, Should I buy one of those quick adjustment tools you can get off ebay?

Re: Preload adjustment

use electrical tape or masking tape to tape off the sides and then use ur spanner or whatever to change it. i do the same to my steering nut that came with ,my damper since it marrs very easily since its not really metal.

Re: Preload adjustment

Buy some preload adjusters from Dan Kyle and you'll be all set.

Re: Preload adjustment

How about making sure whatever tool you are using is clean and you use it carefully
