Coolant Flush

Well I just picked up an 01 929 last Friday. So I'm new to forum. I have one quick question that I couldn't find through searching. I am going to do a coolant flush on the bike since the coolant looks a little off color and I was wondering if anyone uses Prestone (or other major brands) flushes to do this on the bike. I have used the Prestone flush in the past on cars without problems. I did order 4 quarts of the HP premix coolant from Ron Ayers, so I won't be putting Prestone coolant in. Should I use a Prestone flush that can be picked up Auto Zone or something else?

Thanks.

Re: Coolant Flush

I just use tap water to flush the system.I only use those treatments to flush really nasty cooling systems.

Re: Coolant Flush

Never put tap water in a cooling system. Go buy a gallon of distilled water and flush it out. Then fill with that Honda premix or make your own 50/50 mix. Add in some Water Wetter if you wish. Just make sure the coolant is one that dosen't have any silicates in it, they eat water pump seals.
