954 Dark Paintjob

Hey Guys,
Let me know what you think of my 954 Dark conversion. I still need the upper fairing, obviously, but all of my shiny, stock fairings are hanging on my garage wall. I found a bunch of rashed up fairings on Ebay and shot them with some Rustoleum Satin Black. The decals are from Tapeworks. I'll ride it like this for both street and track.

Re: 954 Dark Paintjob

It looks great so far
So is the plan to have the upper fairing dark but leave the tank and pillion seat red or go all dark?
Are those red hoops on the wheels reflective paint?
Looks like a well set up weapon too.
How are the Ohlins for general road use?

Yup, the plan is too keep the tank for sure. They're a bit expensive even used so I'll just leave the red tank. However, I'm undecided on the rear seat. Luckily, they're real cheap on Ebay so I may pick up a used one and then I can have both.

The red on the wheels is a product called rim stealth reflective tape from Tapeworks. They look red in most light but you can see in the second pic the camara's flash went off and the tape is reflecting it. I ride alot in the early morning and evening so I figured a flat black bike can use all the added visibility it can get.

I love the Ohlins for any use...unless I crash and mess those forks up, I'm keeping them forever. If I sell the bike I'll put some stockers on it.

Thanks Guys!

I like that the color matches up with the frame.

Re: 954 Dark Paintjob

wow that **** looks awesome. Seeing you people do custom colors and stuff kinda makes me wish I had a regular version so I could do it too (can't change the Erion, that would be blasphemy)

if you can't convince them, confuse them.

Re: 954 Dark Paintjob

Very nice results, for next to nothing. It reminds me of the finish on some of the paneling on R6s/R1s.

Re: 954 Dark Paintjob

Looks very good! A bit over the top in the sticker department after my taste, but the color combination is very nice!

I'm considering making a red pinstripe on the rims of my bike, so thanks for specifying what Tapeworks tape you used The use of a reflective tape is probably a good idea..

Re: 954 Dark Paintjob

Nice job. Looks similiar to what I did to mine (post crash). I found those little triangles behind the fairing upper can only be matched by Honda. I got the Tapeworks red rr's and Honda, and they gave me samples of their "Winning Red" which didn't match to the OEM vinyl when it was right next to it. The little triangles with CB or BR (depending on which side) are only 12 dollars from the Honda dealer, and you can get the black reflective CBR sticker (one piece) to go over the white. I've seen one done like this, and it looks pretty good.

Really nice rim accents. My order's going in.
