CBR1000 vs Formula 1

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows where I could find this video clip? A few people have told me they have seen this footage of a "best of 3" race between a CBR1000 (unconfirmed, but a superbike of some sort) and a Formula 1 race car.

Apparently the bike wins the first race, but the F1 car wins the remaining two.

If anyone knows anything more about this, I'd appreciate the info.

Many thanks

Re: CBR1000 vs Formula 1

I haven't seen or heard of this video, but a CBR1000 wouldn't stay with even the Minardi for more than a couple corners.
Just for reference, take a look at both Motogp.com and Formula1.com. There are only a couple tracks that both series use, but if you take a look at the fastest times at these tracks you will se that there is no way in hell any bike will keep up with an F1 car, let alone beat one. Even if it is Rossi driving the F1 car.

Re: CBR1000 vs Formula 1

Thanks for the info, but I guess I should also have mentioned that apparently the race is not for a full lap. It's a straight line race, not sure of the distance, but from how it was described to me I don't think it was the quarter mile.

Apparently the reason the bike won the first race was because the driver of the F1 experienced some clutch issue at pullaway time giving the bike the edge, but the other races, even though the bike took the lead, the F1 car hauled in in VERY quickly

None of this is suprising to me, I would just like to see it for myself. - I don't think anyone in their right mind would consider a race against a F1 car... - lol

If I had a chance to do it at a safe location such as a closed course I would do it. I don't care if I'd lose I'd do it to say I did it. think about there really isn't much danger

if you can't convince them, confuse them.

on a road course hell no, keep that thing as far away from me as possible. assuming I even stayed on the bike I'd **** my pants cause he'd probably be passing pretty damn quickly.

You'd still lose. F1 cars are running high 7s in the 1/4 at 180+. They can go 0-100-0 in about 7 seconds! They are unreal!

Holy molee. I had no idea they were that freakin fast. How can they go that fast leaving the line without spinning though?

They have very wide, sticky tires, and only weigh 1300lbs. I'm sure they're making their times on the "big" end. 800hp with that little weight! Theorhetically they should run low 7's. The first time I went to an F1 race, I thought my eyes were decieving me. I walked out on to the infield at Indy as the Orange crush car ripped out of the pits. I thought he overcooked turn 1, but he just zipped right through. It defied all that I knew about watching racecars.
