Custom Maps?

I know you guys love the custom maps around here but I was wondering......How can the custom map made on a dyno account for the extra air you get while at speed? I ask this because a trusted mechanic/Busa drag racer buddy has always done his tuning at the track and never on the dyno. His bikes are Always among of the fastest around, so he must be doing something right

i dont know your back ground, but at mt local tuner he actually has forced fans that hes running when hes tuning the bikes where they are pointed at the front of the bike sorta like making a wind tunnel... also he tries to do everything inthe latter part of the evening to get better temps when tuning , also to keep from being interupted once he starts....
and he has a good reputation in the area for making power as well...... i had a map in my pc3 for a full arata from dan kyle that was putting down 146 rwh when i had it custom mapped i was laying down 150.1 rwhp....

Re: Custom Maps?

The fans are to keep airflow through the radiator. Otherwise the bike will overheat.
There is a sensor in the airbox to account for pressure changes. If you start at sea level and ride up a mountain, the bike will know and slightly alter the map. Ram air bike do the same thing.
