I know you are tired of exhaust threads..Bought my first appartment!!

Hi y'all, and a good new year to all of you

I have done a search, and came up with quite a few answers but I would like to hear your opinion before buying..

I would most of all like like to buy a full exhaust for my 929, but I already have an Akrapovic bolt-on, and on the track I go to once a week (if weather permits)they require a stock can. Therefore I am considering the HASS Eliminator. Is this just BS, or does it actually do something? Most of the posts that turned up on my search was posted by people with relatively little experience from what I could read.. With the exception of Sirbac. If I have to I would have one map made for the stock can, and one for the Akra can.. I have a PCIII.

I also just bought my first own apartment just now (have been renting since I was 17) and that makes me think twice before I throw lots of cash at the bike.. Here is a drawing of the place I will sign the papers for on Monday.. My first "own" place It's not very big, but I don't need that much space when I'm single.

Re: I know you are tired of exhaust threads..

Sorry, but I cannot help much on the exhaust question, but I wanted to congratulate you on your new apartment. It might not be large, but it is YOURS.

Something to be said about not worrying where you put nail holes for pictures on the wall!!!

Official Racer Dude Guy, according to a neighborhood 6 year old.

Re: I know you are tired of exhaust threads..

Thanks Maxib and "the wine God" I did a lot of thinking before I decided to buy my own place (it's very expensive here..) but I know I'll never get rich, and renting a place is just throwing money out the window, so I figured I'd might as well go for it..

You would have been invited to the moving in party when it happens sometime in 2006 if you were here

Edited spelling, I'm sure there are more errors

Re: I know you are tired of exhaust threads..

I think -in theory- the HTEV gizmo is viable. I have to believe Honda engineers a pretty good exhaust to begin with, but in eliminating the valve and adding a custom mapped PCIII, I'd guess you could roughly duplicate a full race system at a reduced cost. More power up top, perhaps a bit less punch down low. Fine for the track, not so good for a streetbike AFAIC. All that said, if/until someone does before and after work on a dyno, seat of the pants results are dubious at best IMO.

Btw, that place looks cool! Single in Norway with a nice new home. Good for you!

Edit: Sheese, I just found a whole thread on the valve issue -> LINK

Can't really help re the HTEV eliminator. It is a mod which is controversial on this board with arguments for and against. Those against say it robs the bike of driveability (low end loss). Those for say you can fix that with a power commander. Me?

Congratulations on the apartment. Where does the 929 sleep?

I'd like to die peacefully in my sleep like my grandpa
not screaming in terror like the passengers in his car.

Have not decided if I should go for silver or Titanium plated walls just yet? What do you suggest?

I know that Chain has absolutely no experience when it comes to exhaustsystems....

Thanks for the congratulations on the bachelor pad I can imagine getting a decent place in Japan is lot's worse than here in underpopulated Norway...
