Idle question

I have my idle set at 1200 rpm. When I come to stops during riding, it varies between 1200 and 1450 rpm. What would cause this? "Clueless in Tucson" Not a huge big deal, but disconcerting nonetheless.

Re: Idle question

Always? Cold/hot? Build up under the throttle plates? Clean that off, sometimes it makes them stick just ever so slightly on closed throttle.

Re: Idle question

Re: Idle question

How many miles on your bike? Depending, it might need a starter valve synch.

Re: Idle question

Yeah, you could get the synch checked.

These bikes are tuned pretty aggressive though, it's probably just the lope of the cams, and the engine management trying to keep up.

Re: Idle question

Not sure the miles or setup, but on a car the most common causes are dirty injectors, vacuum leak or worn timing chain.
