Much of the "published" information on I4 header designs comes from the respective manufacturers and usually is nothing more than hyperbole (or wishful thinking).

The biggest differences I have seen with the various styles of headers are between the 4 into 1 vs the 4 into 2 into 1 design and then the latter with a flat internal bridge (ala Hindle and Dan Kyle's old Erion stuff). The 4 into 1 systems usually give up quite a bit of midrange, but show some nice gains in the upper revs, while the 4/2/1 systems usually yield more modest gains from the midrange on up. The flat bridge style does the same, but works very nicely on the bottom end as well.
