2004 1000RR Tail Light/Rear Turn Signal Wiring

One of my friends said there is some good info on here so here it goes..

I am planning on installing an LED Intergrated Tail light and Rear turn signal unit in my bike this weekend. Does anyone have a handy wiring diagram that tells me what each wire is by color for the tailight and rear turn signals. Im trying not to do the hunt and peck method I did on my F4i before.. Just wound up eating up a bunch of fuses.. Thanks!

Are you still an HRC member or did you buy your RR used? If so you can access one bikes worth of service manuals on the website. It will have the diagrams you need plus a lot more.

Re: 2004 1000RR Tail Light/Rear Turn Signal Wiring

Here you go.

Left Turn Signal: 2 wires one is Orange (connects to switch) and one is Green

Right Turn Signal: 2 wires one is Light Blue (connects to switch) and one is Green

Brake Light: 3 wires one is green and yellow (connects to front and rear brake swtich), one is green, and one is brown and white.

License Plate light: 2 wires one is green and one is brown and white

All of the green ones connect together at some point and those connect to a wire that goes to the rectifier.

The brown and white one that is on both the license plate and rear brake light I assume give power when the on switch is turned to the on position because they are both connected together eventually.

Fuse C (10A) is for the turn signals, brake, and horn. Hope this helps. Straight from the Honder 1000RR service manual.

Thanks man... Actually I went to Hell 2 years ago for the last ride that to Suzies.. Was pretty cool.. Got to see all kinds of bikes..

Yeah.. You definitely have to get out to Hell to ride some nice roads.. Get as far away from the city as possible.. Potholes around will swallow a bike.. Although I may try to get out for a few today after work..

Yeah, you've got your work cut out for you there. Do you live where you can take it out for a ride when all is done?

A whole year later and the above words of wisdom saved my butt! I've spent about 2 hours searching for something on the net that would help me figure it out. The above sums it up, plain and simple. Once I found this post, finishing was only 2 beers away including polishing off all the finger prints. Thanks Rob!
