Low Oil Pressure at Idle?

Anyone know why my oil light comes on at idle only when the bike is hot (>210*)? eg. @ a stoplight. If I raise the idle by just about 100 rpm the light goes off. Any ideas?

Re: Low Oil Pressure at Idle?

Cant believe the homies didnt respond to you??

Whelp, it can be best case you need to add a heavier weight oil..low amount of oil shouldnt matter. The pump could be going bad or have a blockage (not sure you can easily access the pump on your bike (ANYONE??) on your bike but on your next oil change you can look for anything remotely like sludge to indicate at least one type of block. Or if it were me, I'd raise the idle 100rpm and ride on till my next change then go with a heavier oil

Re: Low Oil Pressure at Idle?

I had the same problem, ended up being a bad main bearing. Put an oil pressure gauge on there asap and check the pressure. If its low drop the pan and look for metal.
