I'm no longer a blade owner
I had been playing with the idea of selling the bike since last fall and now that spring has sprung I'm spending all my time training on the bicycle. Anyway, I had made up my mind to ride the beast to work today and take it to a local dealer at lunch to see what they would give me for it. Leaving work at 11 with a friend on his hyabusa a red van driven by a young guy ran a red light and hit the front of said hyabusa and then plowed into the car to my friends right who also was entering the intersection. Friend was ok, hurt shoulder where the handle bars were turned so abrubtly to the right. Bike damage was substantial but not critical. He rode the bike home then was driven to the hospital to have his shoulder checked.
After everything calmed down and I was sure my buddy was going to be ok (we had other friends on the scene) I continued my errand to the dealer in Decatur Al. They offerred me pretty much what I thought it was worth, actually 10 dollars less than my upper range of what I thought it was worth so I took the deal. Called a ride from Huntsville and will be away from the sport for a while. I reserve the right to buy a bike again in the future if the want arises, but for now the bike wasn't getting ridden and I'm happy to be rid of it. I'll still be lurking around reading all the stories but I thought I'd share one of my own. Please be careful out there and remember to kiss your family - anything can happen so don't take your safety for granted.
