1000RR radial master cylinder on 954RR??

Has anyone put any thought into this or even attempted it??

Not that the 954's braking can even be called into question but a radial master cylinder is the most effecient way to apply force to the calipers. While I'm sure absolute braking power increase are neglible I have a feeling that feel & perhaps bite may be improved & be more usable to average riders.

Also they look classy & are definetley worth some kudos!

So again does anyone know if the 1000RR's master cylinder closely matches the piston size/ares/volume of the 954RR's & if they seem a good match??

Perhaps even the new 600RR's might be a viable option??

The 05 600RR is not a radial MC, they use a conventional design almost if not identical to the F4I

Re: 1000RR radial master cylinder on 954RR??

I just bought a pair of 1000RR Radial calipers off ebay and have lined up a pair of 1000RR forks. I will be mounting these on my 954 using the origional 954 front wheel and 330mm discs with 10mm spacer's between the caliper and brake mounts. To compliment this I will also be adding a brembo 19x20 Radial Master cylinder for what should make a pretty mean set of brakes

Yes Im a bit of a procrastinator, but it should be all sorted out very soon, just been a bit preoccupied of late... Ive decided to buy a brand new set of lower legs from honda and match them to my 954 cartridges and out/upper tubes. Also just aquired a PT 19x20 Billet Radial Master Cylinder so it shouldnt be long till its all up and running

The 1000RR Discs are 0.5mm thicker but it is of no real consequence

Re: 1000RR radial master cylinder on 954RR??

if the 1000RR has 310s and the 954 has 330s wouldn't you need 20mm spacers not 10?

if you can't convince them, confuse them.

Re: 1000RR radial master cylinder on 954RR??

You need to think in terms of a radius as it's the distance from the axle.

310/2 = 155mm
330/2 = 165mm

165-155 = 10mm

I was thinking that but wasn't sure if that was the right idea or not.
