Where is the Pilot Power's bead mark?

I just changed the front tire on my 929 to a new stock sized Pilot Power. It's great!
It was the first time changing a motorcycle tire for me and I couldn't figure out if or where the bead mark (I think that's what it's called) is on the tire.

Is it the capital B with a circle around it on one side of the tire? Or is there one at all?

are you talking about the bead mark where it is the heaviest part of the tire?

If this is the case I do beleive reading somewhere that Michy. beleives these tires are perfectly balanced and the only weight you will need to account for is any offset to the rim.

why put off today what you can wake up late and forget to do tomorrow.

Yes that's the one. I think it is actually supposed to be the lightest part of the tire so that the extra weight of the valve stem is compensated for in the tire in the same spot. I couldn't find that information, but I'm still looking.

Most Michelins use very little weights, if any in my experience.

Now that the pilot powers been out for awhile what are you guys thoughts on them? I have diablos now and getting ready for new set.. thinking pilot powers as I hear good things about them.

I think I have around 5000 miles on mine and they still look great, tons of tread left. I do a lot of straight up riding but the only chicken strips onthe rear are maybe 1-2mm on the left side so I do lean it over. Never a bad feeling from them at all. Most of the miles have been in temps below 65 and they stick great. The few days where its been really hot (80-90 this past weekend) they stuck like freakin glue. I love them. Get them.

Buy them. I have a set on my 600RR and am about to do a 4th track day with them. The outer 1 1/2" will be gone after that but the center is like new after 1200 miles.

My friend that was following me at our last track day said I was leaving big "blackies" comming out of all the turns. I never felt the least bit out of control with them. Incredible tires.

Would you recommend the Pilot Power or the Pilot Power Race for an RC going to Grattan with a fat Gummer sheep riding it MotoJedi If race any input on compound?

you talk like you can ride fast (enough to need race compounds) you know I'm no expert but I'd say the regular Powers should be good enough, no need to waste money on the Race ones.

If you're going to turn right around after Grattan and run the bike primarily on the street; I would say stick with the Pilot Power. If you'll be doing consecutive track days and or some racing; get the Power Race.

Btw, I have noticed that the Power's like for your suspension to be set up properly for the track. If your bike is set soft, the Power's will feel like their sliding around real bad.

Start with 30psi front and rear and go from there. I set mine at 30 cold and the front went to 35 and the rear to 34 hot. I'm using all of the tire and dragging the pegs and the bike feels like its on a rail. As mentioned before, wear looks great.

what are you talking about? I'm confused

I have 5000 miles on the Pilot Powers. My 929 has a little over 14k miles on it, 8k of which are since I bought it a little over a year ago.
