Re: Switching rims on a 93

I'm pretty sure the front rims are interchangable with the 17 inch f2 rim. I think you'll have to use the rotors from the 900 though. Someone whos actually done it could give ya some more info though

Re: Switching rims on a 93

i was gonna put a 17' on the front of my 95 RR, then, after some research, i found out that it slows the steering way down, and makes tankslappers almost commonplace.... so, needless to say, i decided against it

Re: Switching rims on a 93

The 17' rim is the way to go. I did it on my 99 about 6 months ago and it makes it a so much easier to find good tires. The f2 rims should bolt right up, but I'd do a little research. As for the steering, the fork tubes have to be raised to compensate for the taller tire. I raised mine 13mm and the bike is very stable. You will notice a bigger change when you go to a 120 size front instead of the 130 that is stock on the 900.

I've got some info lying around the house from when I switched mine over. If I can find it, I'll send it to you.

Re: Switching rims on a 93

Check that!! *F2 rims WILL NOT bolt up to the 900. *The f3 rims should. *Here's more info than you will never need. * Scroll a third of the way down and you'll find the conversion numbers.
