Re: Stem Stand and Steering Dampers

Which steering dampers will allow a stem stand to be used? I know my Scotts won't.

Stem stand for what use? If it's radar or GPS, Stem stand makes a brake resevoir mount. Legal speeding makes a windshield mount for 'dar.

I'm thinking about adding a detector.

SS, Some of the piston types cover the hole where the mount will go.

I thought the brake resevoir mounts were prone to breaking?

it wont work on a 954 with a stock windscreen. You need about 1.5' more to clear the brake res. *The DB will do the trick.

Re: Stem Stand and Steering Dampers

the ohlins damper i just got wont allow a stem stand, unless it makes a radical angle from where it mounts......the ohlins hangs about 2 inches over the hole.

Re: Stem Stand and Steering Dampers

Went through the same thing.

You need a Matrisse (sp) damper with the triple crown center hole nut drilled out to allow the stem stand. I run this setup with a Valentine 1.

I would think that a hyperpro would do the job
