929 throttle bodies on a 954

Anyone know if the 929 throttle bodies will fit on a 954 engine?

Thanks.

Re: 929 throttle bodies on a 954

I have some 954 throttle bodies for sale for $100 plus shipping. Pics available. I beleive the velocity stack diameters are slightly different between the two. The 954's are bigger. Also the 954 throttle bodies have 8 holes in the injectors instead of only 4 that the 929 has. I believe this provides more of a fogging effect.

929 will fit...with the airbox and velocity stacks as well. not sure why you would want to downgrade. Faster flow in the 929's due to smaller diameter...but better spray in the 954's because of better infectors...

Re: 929 throttle bodies on a 954

Thanks, I actually ended up getting a 954 engine for my 929 (got a good price) it just doesn't have throttle bodies. I was hoping I could get away with using the stuff from the 929 and getting a map done once it is all together.

Re: 929 throttle bodies on a 954

update:

I got the 954 engine in my 929 yesterday, between the cali model 954 throttle bodies someone lent me and the 929 throttle bodies the 929 ones actually ran the best with 929 ecu and no remapping. also for anyone looking to do the engine swap themselves;

the 929 ecu/harness work fine with the 954 engine I think if I was going to use 954 throttle bodies I would switch the ecu/harness though. Two of the sensors had to be swapped from the 929 engine to the 954 do to wire lengths. other than that it bolted right up and ran decently with no remapping.
