Check your plugs, air filter and fuel filter.

Re: 929 CUTS OUT HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

It could also be an electrical connector or ground coming loose. When you come off the gas or pull the clutch that quick weight / inertia transfer may be knocking it enough to cause a quick power cut.
My F3 racebike started doing that once many moons ago, and I took apart each connector and re-seated it, as well as tightening all the ground bolts.
It didn't do that again.

Re: 929 CUTS OUT HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

First question I always ask...does it have a Power Commander?

Re: 929 CUTS OUT HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

Hmmm...how is it cutting out? Does it completely shut off, or does it sputter like it's running out of fuel?

Hi Player80978,

I haven't had any experience like this with my 929, but I do recall reading a thread about this where one of the guys had his bike cutting out over bumps and tracked the problem down to a loose battery connection.

Your symptoms are similar - pull the clutch in and the engine cuts, when you dump the clutch the bike bump starts itself again...

Probably worth having a look at that before you start pulling everything else apart anyway.

Cheers, Spanky.

Re: 929 CUTS OUT HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

My 929 has died on me more times this year than I care to mention.

Two easy checks:
1. Check the battery connections.
2. Check the fuel vacuum line (it might be pinched in the rear shock)

Yours sounds like the first one.

Re: 929 CUTS OUT HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

Like what has said above.. check the battery connections. My wife's bike was doing a similar thing, tightened the connections repeatedly and they were tight.... ended up the bolt for the battery cable was 2 threads too long so the cable would wiggle a bit. Cut 2 threads off the bolt and never another problem. (Thanks to the local shop for giving me this addded enterainment )

Re: 929 CUTS OUT HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

Check the sidestand switch. This has caused a lot more problems than it has ever solved. Good luck.
