Re: What to do?

Someone will by my 929 Erion for $7500. *Mine has 8500 miles, brand new D208's, PCIII custom map,Micron b/o, hugger, other knick-knacks. *Should I go with this price? Seems like a fair price for what I've seen other 929's going for. *

Next question is what to get next. *I'm kind of set on a 03 RC-51 which I can get out the door for $10,700, or they have an 02 silver/black 954 I could get for $9,000 all together. *Would rather spend as little as possible but really wanting a V-twin. *Any input welcome.

Re: What to do?

If your tired of the 929, trading up to a 954 will not be much different and you'd get tired of it quickly. Go for the Twin. Personally I'd hang on to the 929, as it's a great cycle, but that's just me.

Re: What to do?

If you can get that much for your 929 take it and run!!! If you can wait 'til next year then just wait for the 1000. If you can't then It's different

Get an R1. They are God's gift to motorcyclists.

Re: What to do?

F*ck Taz, and the steering damper he wobbled in on....... The '03 RC51 rocks! You will need to adjust the gearing, and do the suspension, i.e. revalve/and get the Dan Kyle links. The motors are a bit thirsty, but you get a lot back for what you put in the gas tank.

The R1 is a great bike though, and if you're an inline kind of guy it would be different enough to keep you from regretting it.

I rode an '03 Gixxer 1000 the other day, and I gotta say - WOW!, what a motor! Then I'd have to say WOW!, again, because the brakes are as lethal as the motor! Not sure which would get the rider into trouble first, but either will bring disaster if not respected and used properly. Pretty comfortable to ride, too.
The seat is *way* better than the Honda's plank, but masks feedback a little from the rear suspension.
Put a set of OZ wheels on this bike and you will have something that flicks like a 600, accelerates like a rocket, and stops like a crash test dummy in full test mode.

Re: What to do?

IF you are stuck on the RC, get it, it might not be around much longer. If you aren't partial to vees, then wait for the 1000RR. It's going to be trick, have GSXR1000 like power and I will guarantee you it will be a balanced motorcycle just like the 929. The 1000RR will be Baba's last bike, and I'm sure it will be worth the wait. In the meantime you've got a great bike, one of the best all around. The new CBR will look a lot better than the pictures posted thus far. Underseat exhaust is trick!

Re: What to do?

Definitly sell your bike for that much!

Find a slightly used 2002 RC and you'll save a bunch! Some new ones are still sitting around showrooms, so that is an option too...

Definitly do the twin... The 954 is different from the 929, but still basically the same. It would be a sideways step in my opinion. Nothing really to gain or lose, just all the same!

With the RC though, the whole ride is different. Go for it, but shop around, don't pay that much for a new one, though they are worth every penny! Look at your twin alternatives... Suzuki, (crap), Aprilia ($$&#036, Ducati ($$$$ and sometimes crap)... Honda is the only twin game in town IMHO...

Re: What to do?

I wouldn't sell, but if I did, I'd get the 600RR or the 954. I wouldn't get the RC, because I feel it'll go away since the rule changes.

Basically, if handling was the priority, I'd try the 600RR over the RC.

...in my pants

Re: What to do?

Thanks for all the opinions, as far as getting an GSXR1000 or an R1 * Always had Honda's and always will. You guys are right about a 954 being a side step as mine cranks 134 rwhp as it is, same as a 954 out of the box.......so no point in that. *Not really tired of my bike, I don't know if it's possible to get tired of the mid and top end pull, just itching for an RC51 and I have some scholarship money to throw out the window so why not. *I'm going to check around for an 02 RC51 hold over because the 03 is the same with a slightly different decals right? *I definitely want a new bike because I've had 3 used Honda's (F2, F4, 929) never brand new, unless I can find an outstanding deal.
