Complete 900RR upgrade to 929RR Race Ready.

Hello Folks, I am pretty new here. I have some serious information for those of you who are interested. I am currently in the process of doing a complete upgrade on my 1998 CBR900RR track bike. I was in a major highside about 4 weeks ago and did pretty serious damage to my bike. Namely, the forks and body work. I have since then researched all of the information to do these upgrades. Ok, first I am going to state the upgrades before the highside.

The following are before the crash.

-K&N air filter
-Nology race spark plug wires
-4 degree ignition advance
-Erion Racing jet kit (set at 118 mains)
-ported and polished intakes
-Wyleco Exhaust system
-RaceTech front springs (.95) and gold valves
-Pro-Tek frame sliders
-LP V2 Speedscreen
-Chain conversion to 520 (D.I.D Gold Race)
-AFAM front sprock (15-16T) AFAM Rear sprock (43-44T)
-EBC Prolite Rotors and EBC Double H pads
-17" front wheel conversion for 97 CBR600 F3
-Goodridge Kevlar Race Brake Lines (front and rear)
-Change rear dog bones to raise rear for GP style ride and handling
-Bridgestone BT012SS Track tire for Street and BT002 race compound
for the track

Now here are the upgrades I am doing after.

-Upgrade to 929RR/954RR front forks (inverted forks)
-RaceTech front springs (.90) and gold valves
-stock lower triple for 929RR (everything is same, bearings and seals as
900RR
-Vortex Upper Triple
-Vortex Clipons (50mm)
-Vortex Keyless gas cap
-Vortex Rearsets
-Vortex Barends and Frame sliders
-Penske Rear shock (triple adjustable)
-Akrapovik Race exhaust (Full system)
-929RR Hotbodies Racing race body work (complete body work)
-LP V2 Speedscreen and Zero Gravity Double Bubble Screen

Now there are some issue to be worked out but the job is well worth the trouble. I will be more than happy to explain my process to anybody who is interested. It is not an easy job, but she is looking good now. Not complete finished at this point but will be in the next couple of weeks.

Re: Complete 900RR upgrade to 929RR Race Ready.

dgboff,

No, the bike and the tank are 98 CBR900RR. The engine, frame and swingarm are 900RR everything else is 929RR.... Many upgrades are going into this bike.... The final steps are getting the Akrapovik Race exhaust (full system), Penske triple adjustable rear shock and Vortex rearsets..... So far with VP U4 race fuel I am getting around 155-160 Hp at the crank.... which is some where around 135-140 at the rear wheel. The weight is just under 400lbs. I want to say around 390-395 wet weight. There are still some other things I could do, but money is the big issue.....

Re: Complete 900RR upgrade to 929RR Race Ready.

If it were me, I would forget the Akro exhaust and go for something like a Hindle, Muzzy or M4 full system etc... You will still get the performance and weight savings, but save some money for other stuff like rearsets. Plus you can buy Hindle parts individually if crash.
