Raising forks?

Hi everyone, I'm trying to raise the forks on my 929 to speed up the steering, I have loosened the bolts on the top and bottum yokes(4 in all) but I cant seem to push the forks up through the headset. I'm I doing something wrong? thanks

Re: Raising forks?

Did you remove the retaining rings on the forks?

Re: Raising forks?

From what I understand, it may be better to raise the rear ride height a bit. I think raising the forks may make it twitchier. Just don't raise them a lot. I think some folks here may have done it, a search may yield how many millimeters.

Re: Raising forks?

Raising the triple clamps 5mm (not dropping them down the fork tubes) made the best compromise between handling and ground clearance along with an additional 1" of ride height in the rear (measured at the tail section above the rear axle, not the shock length).

If your 954/929 is hard to turn in, then you need to eat some Wheaties.
