changing oil/filter/coolant

ive tried to read through some threads on oil and everyone seems to have a difference of opinion on synthetic stuff, so can the best bet would be to just buy synthetic oil from honda? and on the filter can i just buy a fram filter? and is there any special kind of coolant to buy any good any bad?

thanks in advance - shawn

Re: changing oil/filter/coolant

Good going. You should add octane ratings to that list, and you'll catch even more.

Re: changing oil/filter/coolant

Just changed mine to a Motul 5100 semi-synth @ about 5000 miles. I would use only Honda filters. Fram=bad.

I wouldn't get too experimental with coolant, just run the recommended Honda stuff, mixed 50/50 with distilled water.

And then there's this asshole...

Re: changing oil/filter/coolant

Honda doesn't make a full synth, only the blend. I use Amsoil full synth. Motul is good, too. The Honda coolant is what I use, but it is already premixed, so if you get it, don't dilute it; read the label. Fram filters are horrible, stick with OEM filters.

They do? The Honda shops around here don't carry it, then, because I'd prefer the unmixed stuff. Figures. I suppose I could make them order it.

The Honda coolant I used was not pre-mixed.
