Help with side rearview mirrors, please...

I just ordered a pair of new EMGO side rearview mirrors. But they come with 3" stocks, not the 4" ones that are on my bike. I want to switch the mirror and housing but keep the stocks that I have on there. Anyone know how to remove the mirror and housing? I can't seem to see how it's attached?

Thanks....

The only way to remove the stalks from the stock mirrors is to remove the mirror glass, which I don't think you can do without breaking it. The plastic black housing around the mirror is fairly flexable, you might be able to squeeze it and pop that glass out. I've done that in a crash before.

thanks, that comes as bad news. So it's either the new housing and clean glass with the shorter stocks so I can't see behind me or the old ones with the spots and edges with the refective surface is deteriorating, but are further out so I can see behind me. Who designed this stuff?

You could try mirror extenders. They shift them out a bit and up.
