Re: Spots on the exhaust

Anybody ever noticed spots on your exhaust pipe after cleaning? How do you prevent it and/or clean it. Thanks.

Re: Spots on the exhaust

Yes, I find that maroon scotchbrite pad that came with the bike to work wonders though just wear gloves or youll hate life for a few days.

why put off today what you can wake up late and forget to do tomorrow.

929 or 954? The 954 does not come with the scotch brite pad like my 929 did. If you have the 929, use the scotch brite pad. If you have the 954, use Honda polish.

Re: Spots on the exhaust

I find that buying an aftermarket full system gets rid of the spots.

On the 954 with the Ti sleeves, remember to clean before it gets hot and cooks the crap to the metal. Honda Polish works on most stuff. If it's baked on (especally greasey finger prints) try 'non-clorinated' brake cleaner. Spray on a clean rag and wipe until gone.

I have a 954. *I think that is what the problem was. *I was on the road for 2 weeks and didn't wash my bike..it also wasn't really dirty. *I guess it was dirty enough on the pipe to get me some spots later though. *Thanks for the tips. *I'll try that next time I get spots.

Oh and Motopilot... trust me, I thought of that

Water softener would work too.

To the optimist, the glass is half full. To the pessimist, the glass is half empty. To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

Honda Spray Polish or WD-40 on Titanium.
