Re: ohlins arrived! (giddy schoolboy noises)

got the ohlins damper from DK last night and it was like Christmas in may. slapped it on in about 45 minutes and went for a ride. ahhhhhh......like taking a leak that youve been holding for hours. Feels so much more confident and smooth. if anyone is thinking of getting one of these litle gems. BUY IT!!!! NOW!! go ahead.....go ....buy it.....now.

Re: ohlins arrived! (giddy schoolboy noises)

yeah....the price........thats the one thing. it was 450 from kyleusa.com. small price to pay if it ever saves me from another slapper incident tho. By the way to any owners: I was skimming thru the manual today and in the back it has service intervals every 6.5 miles......I think I push my bike farther than that any given week maneuvering in parking lots. Whats the deal with service and how often do you do it? Thanks for any info......

Re: ohlins arrived! (giddy schoolboy noises)

It IS a beautiful and very cool looking item, eh? Service every 6.5K miles? Oops, guess I didn't read the manual thoroughly. At that service interval I should be good for a couple of years - I rack up miles about like Chain

Hey, I did a thousand a month in my six month riding season last year. You ought to be able to best that in Rattler Country!!

hahahaha. blow out a gear?? gobs of yamahaha owners around here blow second gear on their R1S all the time. must be those plastic front sprockets they use. as long as I can let the damper go for a few K milos I can live with that. 6.5 seemed a little odd.
