Re: Michelin Pilot HPX

I replaced my 929's OEM Pilot Sports cuz I picked up a nail in the rear. The front looked worn but serviceable. The rear was worn from the usual WOT and highway use.

The 190 HPX's feel good so far. Prior to changing tires, the bike felt vague while leaned over. It would not hold a line through the corners. I just didn't realize how much the original tires were worn and how much they affect the handling. Now the turn in is smooth rather than abrupt. I can feel the front more while leaned over. Maybe as the rear wears down I need to drop the triples to keep the front loaded? Hmmmmm?

I'm assuming the Pilot HPX has the same profile as the Pilot Sports. I could be wrong. I'm looking forward to riding more on the HPX's.

When in doubt, gas it

Re: Michelin Pilot HPX

I hope they work better than the normal Pilots Sports. I hated those things. 2000 miles and they were like rocks, totally vauge, lots of rear-end sliding and they still have a tone of tread left.

It's hard to cound on one had the number of buddies that have wadded 929's because of a rear-wheel slide/wash while running Pilot Sports.

Of course, YMMV. I hope they 'fixed' the tire.

Re: Michelin Pilot HPX

Does anyone know if the Pilot Sport HPX ia the same tire as the Pilot Sport 'Cup'?

The 'Cup' got an excellent write up in a comparo with Rennsport Street,BT012SS, Pirelli Demon 'Corsa', D207RR Dunlop and Avons Best in 'BIKE' (a UK magazine)
