Looking at the auction pics I can see where the drain plug is in the top photo (duh&#33, but why isn't there a hole visible from the inside in the second photo? *Having never dropped the oil pan before maybe I'm just not seeing it.

The oil pan is deeper than it looks in the pic. You can't see the plug from that extreme angle.

Hmm...you're probably right. Just still seems odd that there isn't any obvious sign of it. I wondered if perhaps the drain plug had been stripped and somebody just welded up the hole??
