Re: Powerbronze Rear Cowl for 01' Red/Blk 929

Has anyone ordered the rear cowl from powerbronze? For about $90.00, they'll send me a painted cowl. Since they're from europe, they referred me to their american distributer. He told me that since the red in europe is different from ours in america, the paint may not match. He told me to get the color code so they can color match the paint. After I got the color code and gave it to him, he called and said that europe has different color matching code system (cm. verses inches). I'm wondering if anyone ordered this cowl in red and if it is roughly the same color. I'm concearned that if I make the order, I'll get stuck with a pinkish red colored cowl that will stick out like an eyesore.
Thanks,
Avi

I was told by someone here that the fit and finish of it is lousy, and that the Honda Cowl or the Targa Cowl are the best ones to go with these days.

I personally have the one from Pyramid Plastics that slides over the rear seat, so you don't have to take the seat off. It fits great, and it has NEVER flown off the back!

I really like the look of the powerbronze and the one that guy got from Germany. I emailed them telling them I'll sign some waiver to take full responsibility for there product here in the US. They still refused to send it to me. I then said that I could still get their product if I had a friend in Germany. They never replied. The thing I like about these two cowls is that they smooth out the lines of the bike whereas targa is comparatively boxy. I appreciate your pyramid suggestion but I want to replace the rear seat. Since Racercutie has her own blade, there's no need for me to keep the passenger seat and after looking at her cowl and what it did to the look of her blade, I knew I had to have one.
I think I'll probably order the powerbronze unpainted and either paint it myself or get it done. If anyone out there still has any other suggestions, I'm all ears.

I went to their site: http://www.pyramid-plastics.co.uk/cbr900_pagex.html

If you look at the nice one on the left, it's for the 91-99 models. The one to the right of it, the bulky and in my opinion the ugly one, is for the 929. Damn, I wish they had a replaceable seat cowl for the 929, I'd buy it in a second over the Powerbronze.
