Packing/Sound baffles in midpipe

I have a 2003 954. I just wanted to know if there is any way to take out the packing/sound baffles out in my midpipe? Has anyone done this? Does it make your exhaust sound better? Any information would be helpful thanks.

If you are referring to the perforated cone, might as well leave it. There is nothing to be gained but noise.
