Re: Raising a lowered

About 8 months ago, I bought my first Blade. A '98 900RR. One thing about it though, it's lowered 2.5' in the front and 2' in the rear. That worked out great for me since I did a lot of drag racing and there were'nt very many twisties. But now, I'm finding better roads every week, and the handling is pissing me off. So my question to you is....

How do I raise the damn thing back to stock height again?

Re: Raising a lowered

Others here are much more technical than I, but I think the first thing to do is figure out how the rear was lowered.

Chopped spring? - smaller shock?
Dogbone modification?
Some other form of fabrication?

Get to a microfiche source and study how it's supposed to look. (Ron Ayers Motorsports has one online, as does partsfish, there's others.) What's different?

Then, reverse the 'work' the previous owner did.

The front forks were probably lowered by raising the tubes in the triple clamps, or possiblythe springs inside the tubes were shortened, or their spacers were altered.

Where are good riding roads near Flint ?

Re: Raising a lowered

Welcome Lucky13. The above suggestions are right along the lines of what I was thinking. Hopefully the mods are easily reveresed.

Sad when that happens to a perfectly good bike..
